Geoff
Brousseau
Geoff Brousseau was born in New Jersey and grew up in
Seattle, Washington. His sense of humor is derived from a
family who liked stand-up comedy and let Geoff watch it from
a young age. As an only child, Geoff was forced to try and
make adults laugh from a young age, and learned the power of
a sense of humor.
While wanting to pursue this as a career along with acting
and other things, Geoff got sidetracked by the reality that
sane people don’t pursue these things. For the last few
years he has dedicated his life to the art of comedy – and
became a ball of insecurity and self-obsession.
Other than that, he has become respected for his original
takes on his own life. He founded the sketch comedy group
HAX-TV which created a series of video sketches that have
been very well received. He continues to perform and write
in the group as he performs stand-up comedy around the
nation.
Geoff’s style would be described as autobiographical and
painfully honest. He derives his comedy from stories about
life events, his daughter, family issues, and opinions on
the world around him—pop culture, real people he meets day
to day, and a general search for irony in our existence. The
style is very accessible and self deprecating. Geoff truly
enjoys performing comedy and tries to treat it like the art
form it is. The goal is to make the audience feel like they
just met a new friend, one that is funnier than their other
friends.
Geoff has performed in venues from clubs in L.A. to a pool
table in an Indian casino. He was a finalist in the Giggles
Laugh Off and also had a strong showing in the Seattle
International Comedy Competition.
